Buffet Contributions for Members

Traditionally we have asked our members to contribute to the buffets for Erev Rosh Hashanah, Rosh Hashanah after Mussaf and for break-the-fast at the end of Yom Kippur by bringing generous servings of home-made food (without meat).

For some members, however, this is inconvenient for various reasons. As an alternative option such members may contribute financially to the buffets which will be prepared by Beth Shalom’s office. For the buffets this year, we have set the expected financial contributions as follows:

Erev Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur each

  • Free of charge for children under age 18
  • 15 € for adults

Rosh Hashanah after Mussaf

  • Free of charge for children under age 18
  • 10 € for adults

* We offer reduced fees for students and members of congregations affiliated with the World Union for Progressive Judaism (WUPJ), the European Union for Progressive Judaism (EUPJ) or the Union for Progressive Jews in Germany (UPJ). To apply for this reduced fees please send our office (office@beth-shalom.de) a confirmation of student status or a confirmation from your home congregation that you are a member and that your congregation is affiliated to the WUPJ, EUPJ or UPJ.

The fees include buffets for kiddush on Erev Rosh Hashanah, on Rosh Hashanah after Mussaf and for break-the-fast at the end of Yom Kippur.

The financial contributions stated above do not cover our total costs, therefore we would appreciate any additional donations.
