A new liberal synagogue for the Beth Shalom community is set to be built in the center of Munich. Designed by architect Daniel Libeskind, the planned structure combines modern architecture with symbolic depth.
This liberal synagogue in Munich will be a place of prayer, learning, and fellowship. Historically, it builds on the legacy of the main liberal synagogue and will thus—following the reconstruction of the Orthodox Ohel Jakob Synagogue on St.-Jakobs-Platz and the renovation of the synagogue on Reichenbachstraße—fill the last gap left by the National Socialists.
