Beth Shalom is the liberal Jewish congregation in Munich.

We warmly welcome you!

Our website gives us the opportunity not only to inform you about upcoming plans but also to look back on past events. In this way, we would like to offer you a glimpse into our community life.

We are delighted by your interest in our community and cordially invite you to get in touch with us. Please do not hesitate to reach out—we look forward to meeting you.

C. Bernd Sucher, Chairman of the Board, & Rabbi Tom Kučera

Membership

At our congregation, both “full members” and “supporting members” may participate in all aspects of community life, including prayer. Certain religious duties and voting rights are reserved for full members.

Full membership is open to those recognized as Jewish according to Jewish tradition—that is, through having a Jewish mother or through conversion before a rabbinical court (*Bet Din*).

Individuals with a Jewish father are warmly welcomed as supporting members and are part of our community. We also welcome non-Jewish family members who wish to get involved.

Children with one non-Jewish parent may attend religious classes, provided both parents consent and support a Jewish upbringing. We clarify Jewish status jointly prior to a Bar or Bat Mitzvah.
